Spam. A Directory Owners #1 Enemy.

So what have we done about it? Heaps!

The SBD Directory Software has designed and implemented five ways to prevent, sort and block both spam and 'low quality' submissions.

Auto-Reject Stances
The first is our classic auto-reject stances. Using this you can set parameters for category, URL, title, email, description or IP to automatically block. For example, if you wanted to block gambling websites you may wish to put 'poker' in the description field. This way any submissions that have the word 'poker' will be automatically blocked. The same works for IP addresses. If you are receiving spam repeatedly from the same IP address you can block it with the single click.

Mass Delete Options
Perhaps the most gratifying of the five innovations. This allows you to 'search and delete' suggested submissions and delete the returned results (or your selection of) with a single click. With the above example, if you had received mass-submissions from a single IP you could easily find all of their websites and delete them with a single click. You can search by title, URL, email, description and IP. There is also a 'search and accept' option.

Recaptcha Integration
To help weed out the robot submissions the new 4.0 version of SBD Directory Software allows for quick and easy integration with reCaptcha. This can be set up without any need to alter source code. Simply sign up at reCaptcha.net, get your public/private keys and enter these into the backend of the script. Note - we are not affiliated with recaptcha in any way.

Integration with DirectorySpam
DirectorySpam is a community-driven development aimed at identifying spam and scraper websites. The latest version of SBD Directory Software has built in script integration so that directory owners can identify and block these websites with a click of a button. Risk Assessments
This is an idea unique to the SBD Directory Script, and is perhaps the most powerful of the five. Submissions are automatically filtered into a risk level between 0-10 depending on several identifiable criteria that bad listings often possess. From here you can then review each risk level as normal. An example of how this works is to look at a recent submission from Abc To Me Directory:

The risk assessment has classed this as 10 (the most risky), and explains why: None of these violations automatically class it as a 10, but add together to determine the possible risk. If you find (and you often will) that all the listings in a given risk level are bad, you can delete them with a single click. Alternatively, if you find they are good, you can also accept them with a single click. This can save hours of time.

With all of these options SBD Directory Software will leave you with only the best submissions. It creates a fast and efficient way of managing your directory without substituting quality. So try it out now for free, or purchase and remove the backlink for a cheap one-off payment of $15.
